We decided to stay in Skagway and smell the mountains and oceans! We have enjoyed the history here as the NPS has wonderful facilities and the town of Skagway has a great museum and placards all over which we can read as we walk the town. The new “Gold Rush” is definitely the cruise ship tourists as there are four(ships) in town right now! Yes, we did ride the White Pass & Yukon railroad that was so influential in the settling of Skagway. Unfortunately, the steam locomotive doesn’t operate until July! 😞. Not as cool as the Durango/Silverton, but the views were spectacular! We plan to leave Skagway tomorrow and take the Marine Hiway to Haines! That’ll be an interesting time! Weather here as been unseasonably warm, so say the locals! Haven’t had the rain Kearney is gettin! That’s for sure!
Thanks for following along!
