A Little Bit of Everything!

We left Haines yesterday morning in the rain and through road construction! After bouncing to the Canadian border, we settled in for another beautiful drive. It seems as if every bend in the road has another scenery surprise! We also saw quite a lot of wildlife.........Ken will have to share his up close and personal visit with a BROWN BEAR after he gets the pictures off of his camera card! Bonnie’s up close and personal visit was a bit less nerve wracking as mama and her two cubs didn’t seem to be bothered by our car at all! We also saw numerous trumpeter swans and a mountain goat(a long ways away!) We arrived in Haines Junction early afternoon! That means we are officially on the Alaskan Hiway! We were dry camped at a lovely Yukon Campground! We made a one-match fire and enjoyed the quiet ambiance of nature!
So, today is our 51st wedding anniversary! Ironically, our honeymoon was spent DRIVING through the Medicine Bow and Big Horn Mountains as nothing was open that year cuz of heavy snows! Well, no snow here in Alaska! Cool this evening as it’s only 57 and was 55 in trailer this morning! We’ve been bouncing all day as the earthquakes and frost heaves have taken their toll on the Alaskan Hiway! But, we’re happy to be here and are enjoying ourselves to the max!
Be Well, All! K/B
