Saturday, Sunday

We enjoyed a quiet, cool, night and evening at our campfire Saturday! It’s a good thing Bonnie made some blackout curtains because it’s really light yet past midnight.  We’re not sure if it ever gets really, Nebraska, dark! Needed to crank up the propane heater Sunday morning as it was 52 and felt kinda cold! Saturday, we walked down to the Russian River. They have a marvelous walkway along the river because it’ll FILL with fishermen starting tomorrow and they are trying to reforest the bank so the fish can prosper! We also saw a team anchoring a fish cleaning station in the river! They told us there would be “hundreds” of fishermen along there. There are 23 places for fishermen to walk down to the river.
Sunday, we buttoned up and drove to Soldotna where they are also getting ready for the fishing rush! Then, we headed to Anchorage. Crossing a river, we saw a beached whale.  Looks like it might have been there for a few days! 😢 Sunday night found us at an RV park in Anchorage.

  1. What wonderful experiences you are having! Perhaps the beached whale would be an exception..... I enjoy following your trip.
